Are you an early riser? This is in my oppugn beautiful time to hit the beach in HI.The morning light is very flattering, best way to start a day! Tide charts show it will be a wonderful week to shoot! check out booking times and reserve your spot. Sunrise is around 6:30 am so be ready to be set or the beach at 6 am --- finish your shoot with time to grab a snack and be ready for Raqs Tiki classes or the day's events.
Want to catch some beautiful morning light but not at the crack of dawn? The tide charts look great to catch a lo tide shoot and get the beautiful morning light. I have several time spots before noon.
Want to spend the afternoon soaking in the sun and shooting with the lovely waves crashing behind you? Lets do it! --- Expect the sand to be a bit warm on the toes but great bright colors blue ski and the vibrant light makes for beautiful photos.
The glorious Golden Hour! Only a few Sunset shot opportunities but so worth it! We will head to our location early-- to get a good spot (other photographers will be on the beach) We will take advantage of this beautiful light and ---- catch the last light another beautiful day in HI. Book this one quick... limited spots and they go fast.
I am so excited to photograph at Raqs Tiki 2025. Take home great memories with a beautiful photo session in HI. I am offering many times to shoot - Locations in the Princebville area, these are all location beach shoots so weather is always a factor. Planning a shoot with a back up day can be a good idea as we never know about rain. The beach location will depend on the days tide and time of day.
Tips for your beach shoot:
Costume ---
Your costume may get WET, including sand and salt. The best costumes for the beach are made of fabric that can be washed, dry fast and are light weight.
PLEASE DO NOT bring your most $$ costume to the beach. or a costume you plan to dance in the night of the shoot.
Vail - a vail can look very pretty on the beach but know that silk will catch the wind (looks beautiful) and can be damaged by salt water so be prepared to clean it and let it dry when you get home.
Props --- Swards, fans and cane can be used on the beach - make sure to bring them in a water proof holder (wrapped in a trash bag is ok).
Can I have more then one costume?
I will have a popup changing tent -- and I schedule 2 shoots at a time that makes it good for 1 costume change - make sure your bring a sand water proof bags for both your clean costume an dirty one sand will get on the bottom of the skirt and maybe water.
Can I get photos in the water?
Yes but we do those last--- so decide what you want to have on for the the water shot.
My Hair My Hair---
Well your hair will do what it wants-- so prepare for it. We will likely have wind and high humidity so make it work or you. If your hair goes curly like mine does don't try to fight it and a little gel and make it your style - head bands can help keep it out of your face but avoid tetras or clips that might fall out.
Make-up
go water proof with the eyeliner, mascara and anything else you can.
Shoes
The walk to the beach from the parking lot or road side can be steep and ROCKY protect your FEET ware a good sandal or water shoe --- and even throw in a flip flop or between shoots the sand can also be HOT. If we are shooting on the black rocks they are very ruff on feet or your getting in the water there can be rocks so water shoes are great.
Group shoot
I am traveling with more then 2 friends and we would like to shoot as a group and individual? Please contact me and I can work on a schedule to fit your needs.
Deposit -
I take a deposit at time of booking to hold your spot, the balance is do the day of the shoot. If it is pouring rain and we can not reschedule your shoot before you fly out your deposit will be refunded. Your deposit will not be refunded I you cancel, or no show on day of shoot.
How do I get my Photos?
Your photos will be uploaded to the proofs on this site. You may then down load all photos, you may use them or promo or print at any location you choose. You may choose 3 of your photos for basic editing that is included in your package. Additional photo editing is charged at $30 per image for basic editing - advanced editing and composition photo editing is charged at $45 per hr. An estimate will be given when you describe the edit you are dreaming of.
I live on the Island and I am not attending Raqs Tiki can I still book a photo shoot?
